The Muddy River Gets New Stormwater Outfalls

By Matt Eddy

This fall, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) replaced six broken stormwater outfalls that deliver water from our parkways to the Muddy River. The new outfalls will reduce erosion and flooding of adjacent paths and roadways. In some cases, the stonework at the outfalls isn’t up to permitted specifications; DCR’s contractor will return to add larger stones that won’t be washed away in a major storm.

The MMOC will continue to monitor these spots.
