In a March 31st letter addressed to Sarah Peck, City of Boston Planning Department, the MMOC again voiced its contention that the proposed Longwood Place Phase I will cause harm to the linked parks of the Muddy River, a unique and critical component of the historic Emerald Necklace Park system…
The shadows cast by the heights of the proposed buildings at Longwood Place, as well as any glare and increased wind conditions, represent a significant threat to the ecological health, and therefore the historic character of these recently restored public parks, thereby impinging upon the intended purpose of these spaces for healthy recreation and public enjoyment.
There is only one Emerald Necklace Park system that will ever exist here. It must be respected and protected.”
