June 20, 2013 – Project Update

Below is info on work recently completed, a 3 week look ahead and other information.

  • The Landmark Center granite curb has been installed. Work is being done on other civil features such as installing the sidewalk. It is expected the sidewalk installation to start tomorrow (6/21) and run into next week.
  • Mast arm foundations have been installed at the Landmark Center. The pedestrian signal foundation and poles have been installed at the Landmark Center.
  • The traffic signal cabinets have been installed at the Landmark Center. S aw cuts on the Riverway for the installation of the traffic signal cable that will cross the Riverway have been completed.
  • Removal of the excavated material from the Brookline Ave culvert area from the project site is ongoing. This material was already tested under the contractor’s material characterization program.
  • Today (6.20) we expect to install the Landmark sign and start to install loam at the Landmark Center. The installation of loam will continue into next week.
  • The Landmark Center mast arms are scheduled for delivery 23 June and will be installed that week.
  • The new Landmark Center driveway should be opened on 2 July. Then demolition of the old driveway will begin. – 8 Jul and run through 12 July.
  • The underground traffic wiring will be installed between the Riverway Island and Sears parking Lot the week of 16 June. This will be done with single lane closures with police details.
  • The contractor will begin constructing the sidewalk around SPL for the 1A1 phase the week of 23 June.
  • Soil sample borings for pre-classification of the material in the SPL will continue after the excavated material is completely removed from SPL.
